Allah A Deceiver?

This article will be a refutation of two of Investigateislam’s videos called ‘Allah did deceive us by Cloning of Jesus?’ and ‘Allah is the Deceiver wow who is Satan then?’ He claims Allah is a deceiver because ‘he cloned Jesus on the cross’ According To Quran Surah 4:157 and He also claims in the other video that Allah says ‘I will mislead them’ in Quran Surah 4:119

The First Thing he mentions is Quran 4:119. This Verse Says NOTHING about Allah misleading anybody. He completely misread the verse and he didn’t read the context, which was in the verses right before this. This is what verses 4:117 to 119 say.

Quran 4:117 -119 They do not call besides Him on anything but idols, they pray to none else than Satan, a rebel. Allah did curse him, but he said: "I will take of Thy servants a portion Marked off; "I will mislead them, and I will create in them false desires; I will order them to slit the ears of cattle, and to deface the (fair) nature created by Allah." Whoever, forsaking Allah, takes Satan for a friend, hath of a surety suffered a loss that is manifest

Who is speaking? Satan is being quoted. Verse 119 is a contiunation of verse 118 and 117 Satan said  'I will take of thy servants a portion marked off; I will mislead them and i will create in them false desires; i will order them to slit the ears of cattle...' 

Futherproof is the fact that none of the commentators agree with investigateislam. For example here is the tafseer of Kourtoby, he mentions nothing about Allah deciving, he states it was Shaytaan الشَّيْطَان (satan)

الثَّانِيَة : وَلَمَّا كَانَ هَذَا مِنْ فِعْل الشَّيْطَان وَأَثَره أَمَرَنَا رَسُول اللَّه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنْ نَسْتَشْرِف الْعَيْن وَالْأُذُن وَلَا نُضَحِّي بِعَوْرَاء وَلَا مُقَابَلَة وَلَا مُدَابَرَة وَلَا خَرْقَاء وَلَا شَرْقَاء ) أَخْرَجَهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ عَنْ عَلِيّ قَالَ : أَمَرَنَا ; فَذَكَرَهُ . الْمُقَابَلَة : الْمَقْطُوعَة طَرَف الْأُذُن . وَالْمُدَابَرَة الْمَقْطُوعَة مُؤَخَّر الْأُذُن . وَالشَّرْقَاء : مَشْقُوقَة الْأُذُن , وَالْخَرْقَاء الَّتِي تَخْرِقُ أُذُنَهَا السِّمَةُ . وَالْعَيْب فِي الْأُذُن مُرَاعًى عِنْد جَمَاعَة الْعُلَمَاء . قَالَ مَالِك وَاللَّيْث : الْمَقْطُوعَة الْأُذُن أَوْ جُلّ الْأُذُن لَا تُجْزِئ , وَالشَّقّ لِلْمِيسَمِ يُجْزِئ , وَهُوَ قَوْل الشَّافِعِيّ وَجَمَاعَة الْفُقَهَاء . فَإِنْ كَانَتْ سَكَّاء , وَهِيَ الَّتِي خُلِقَتْ بِلَا أُذُن فَقَالَ مَالِك وَالشَّافِعِيّ : لَا تَجُوز . وَإِنْ كَانَتْ صَغِيرَة الْأُذُن أَجْزَأَتْ , وَرُوِيَ عَنْ أَبِي حَنِيفَة مِثْل ذَلِكَ .

Did Allah Decive People?

The Verse Investigateislam quotes Quran 4:157. Here is what the English translation says.

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah.;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

Investigateislam quotes some opinions on this verse, such as Ibn Kathir. BUT this is just an OPINION, and opinions can be right and wrong. So it doesn’t matter if one scholar thinks it was Judas on the cross, this is not supported by Quran or Hadiths. An Opinion is Not Divine Truth So an opinion of a verse should not exclusively be used to judge any religion.

Quran 4:157

The context from the verse before shows that the Jews are the people who are speaking. They Said (In Boast) We Killed Christ Jesus Son Of Mary. Investigateislam claims this is an error because he thinks obviously Jews would not call him Christ. But The Jews were referring to his Title, the title he was known by, the title he claimed. So they were boasting about killing Jesus the Christ, it does not mean they accept him as the Christ. For instance many non-Muslims still say ‘Prophet Muhammad’ even though they don’t believe he was a prophet. The point is they were boasting and bragging about this, so they used his title to emphasis and exaggerate their achievement, to hurt the followers of Jesus even more. So they claimed they killed the Christ Son Of Mary, they used the full title that he was known by. This is not a mistake in the Qu'ran

Then Investigateislam claims that because the verse says Jesus was not crucified or killed, it means that the quran has an error because in history people witnessed the crucifiction. The most important thing to note is that the verse says 'BUT It Appeared so unto them' This part of the Verse says It was made to appear so unto them. So an event did take place, which would explain the historical accounts of the crucifixion happening and would also explain why ther were possibly some witnesses. Nobody is denying an event took place

Early Christian Documents state that the Crucifixion DID NOT TAKE PLACE such as the Apocalypse Of Peter, which denies Jesus, was crucified and Also the second treatise of Seth who thought Jesus was replaced by Simon of sirene and jesus watched on in the audience. The Gospel of the Basildeans and The Nazerenes (the people of Jesus's home town in palestine) also deny the crucifiction took place. THEREFORE EARLY CHRISTIAN DOCUMENTS DENY JESUS’S CRUCIFICTION, not just the Quran. But the quran says, an event took place, however Jesus was not crucified by it was made to appear so unto them.

Was Allah deceiving people? It depends on how you look at it. God can chose to use whatever methods he wants, even if we dont understand them. If you read the verse in the Quran, it is saying is that they did not kill him, or crucify him but it was made to appear as if they did. If you look at it allegorically the verse can be understood because you cant kill Jesus, His message is still very much alive and He is Alive in heaven, so we all agree he was not killed, and he was not crucified because he was saved. The essence of the verse is that the enemies of Jesus did not get what they wanted,  God and his prophet had the ‘last laugh’ because now over half of the earths population (Muslims + Christian) accept Jesus as messiah
